A personal note from the photographer: "It was my first time seeing the critical work African Parks does on the ground when I visited Akagera in Rwanda. Their efforts in community-based conservation are tangible here after more than 10 years of managing this thriving eco system.It was already after sunset when we reached Kilala plains and saw the wildlife congregate for the night - everyone comes together to unite for safety in numbers when darkness hits. This young giraffe mother caressed her newborn."
